The project focuses on adapting new study lines at RSVA to the European Qualification Framework (EQF). In most of the partners countries curriculum is based on the National Qualification Framework (NQF) which has been created by policy makers with reference to the European Qualification Framwork (EQF). The goal of the Ministry of Education in Iceland is to have all curriculums on upper secondary level written in accordance with the NQF. This will implement the laws on upper secondary education which was passed through Icelandic parliament in June 2008. Knowhow II will offer valuable experience in adapting curriculum to learning outcomes, based on EQF and NQF and will be a role model for other schools and policy makers in Iceland and Europe. One objective of the Knowhow II project is to implement a learning outcome based award credit point system e.g. ECVET, European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training. During the 2nd year of the two year project, the curriculum of the new lines of study, Drawing and Textiles, piloted at RSVA and The Technical School of Iceland will be evaluated by EQF / NQF and ECVET standards, both by internal and external evaluators.
